
![]() | LIFEGUARDING AT THE AQUATIC CENTER: Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and pass a Jeff Ellis and Associates lifeguard certification course, which is considered the gold-standard in aquatic risk management. Training includes master lifesaving techniques, first-aid, AED use, and supplemental oxygen use. ![]() | LIGHTNING POLICY: The BCRD Aquatic Center will close if the lightening is detected within a 10 mile radius and/or thunder is heard. The pool will reopen 30 minutes after the last audible thunder and after lightening has moved beyond the 10 mile radius. Storms can be unpredictable in the summer and our first priority is swimmer safety. |
