
![]() | LIFEGUARDING AT THE AQUATIC CENTER: Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and pass a Jeff Ellis and Associates lifeguard certification course, which is considered the gold-standard in aquatic risk management. Training includes master lifesaving techniques, first-aid, AED use, and supplemental oxygen use. ![]() | LIGHTNING POLICY: The BCRD Aquatic Center will close if the lightening is detected within a 10 mile radius and/or thunder is heard. The pool will reopen 30 minutes after the last audible thunder and after lightning has moved beyond the 10-mile radius. Storms can be unpredictable in the summer and our first priority is swimmer safety. |
