About the Wood River Trails

The 32-mile Wood River Trails system includes paved trails – connecting the communities of Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, and Bellevue – that are open year-round.

Built and maintained by the Blaine County Recreation District, the Wood River Trails have a minimum 10-foot paved width throughout. The trails are for non-motorized use only – open to walkers, bikers, rollerbladers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and equestrians. The trail follows the Big Wood River and is along a historic route on the former Union Pacific railroad right-of-way, crossing several historic bridges and providing beautiful views of the valley.  No pass is required to ski on the Wood River Trail.

You can easily access the trails from the cities of Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey, and Bellevue. There’s a gentle 1000-foot elevation gain over the entire length of the trail system. A self-guided tour of historic and other points of interest along the trails is also available.
