About the Sawtooth Valley Ski Trails

Just over Galena Summit, north of Ketchum, in the Sawtooth Valley are some amazing cross-country ski trails. These trails are a partnership between the Sawtooth Ski Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the City of Stanley, the Blaine County Recreation District, the Sawtooth Society and the U.S. Forest Service. ALTURAS LAKE 16 km groomed for classic & skate, located about 17 miles South of Stanley on Hwy 75.
PARK CREEK 16 km groomed for classic & skate, located at the Park Creek Overlook about 7 miles West of Stanley on Hwy 21.
STANLEY CITY PARK 2 km groomed for classic & skate, located a short walk or drive above the town of Stanley near the school and the airport. EVENTS The Sawtooth Ski Club sponsors the Sawtooth Ski Festival the first weekend of March each year with a ski & snowshoe poker run & chili feed, an evening of Bluegrass music and silent auction and a soup kitchen social as the major fundraiser for the grooming of the ski trails.
TRAIL FEE There is no charge to ski these trails but a donation of $5 is suggested and can be dropped at the trailhead.
