Help the BCRD

If you look around the BCRD web site, you get a sense of the vast number of programs, recreational opportunities, and facilities that the Blaine County Recreation District provides. And although we’re dedicated to improving people’s lives through these programs, opportunities, and facilities, we can’t do so without one thing…

Donations
Tax dollars pay for only 40% of the BCRD’s activities and operations. An additional 30% is funded through program fees, but an additional 30% must be raised through private donations each year.

In fact, projects that aren’t funded by property tax revenues – and are therefore completely reliant on donations and fees – include:
   •  scholarships for youth programs (so all who want to participate are able to)

•  the North Valley Trails Nordic ski system

•  the Harriman Trail

•  Galena Lodge

•  summer youth programs

•  Wood River Little league baseball and softball

•  the Hub Youth Center

It’s easy to donate – simply
click here. If you’d like to learn more about our two membership programs, please read on.

The Believe in BCRD Annual Fund
By donating, you take an active role in providing our community with many recreational opportunities. Donations support:
•  Scholarships for youth programs (so all who want to participate are able to)
•  Wood River Little League baseball and softball
•  the summer youth program
•  the Hub Youth Center
•   Support for Galena Lodge and North Valley Trails

Friends of Galena and the Trails
Because no tax dollars pay for the operation and maintenance of the North Valley Trails, the Harriman Trail, and Galena Lodge, we must rely on donations to keep these beautiful places open. By becoming a Friend of Galena and the Trails, you help keep historic Galena Lodge open for public use, keep the North Valley Trails Nordic ski system in world-class condition, and ensure that the Harriman Trail is a safe and welcoming hiking and biking trail.
